Practices in Union

The Work

Here, we work together at the intersection between psychology and spirituality. As people evolve, there are often shifts in personal and spiritual experience and identity. Some shifts, while welcome, can also feel unsettling. Old patterns are to be honored, yet also let go. Working with a skilled guide can both ease and strengthen this subtle change-process.

This work helps us attend to and integrate two powerful aspects of being human. On the one hand, we work with being an ordinary human being caught in a web of personal life in a material world. On the other, we deeply connect with spirit and consciously attend to the evolution of our soul. Whether you have been involved in spiritual practice for a long time, or have only just begun, this work can support your process.

The Basic Philosophy

Much of Western Psychology assumes that human beings are separate individuals moving through an objective world.

Practices in Union invite deeper awareness into how, even as we inhabit separate bodies, we are expressions of a much greater universal presence.

This universal presence is who we are, even as we appear in separate forms. We emerge from this presence. This presence flows through us. One day, we shall dissolve back into it.

Recognizing this truth, while honoring the very real and challenging task of living life as an individual, is the task of Practices in Union. We weave these diverse strands of our human existence into one living presence.

The sacred concept of “union” is the center point of many mystical traditions.

These Practices in Union are informed by decades of psychological and spiritual inquiry, guided by many learned teachers, with special emphasis on Depth Psychology and Yoga.
